It is an honor and a great privilege to have been elected by the council members and group leaders to serve as the 2018-2019 President of the Hmong 18 Council. Thank you for entrusting me to serve as your President. I have joined a team of enthusiastic and capable committee members who are eager to enhance the growth and prosperity of the organization.
The Hmong 18 Council is a non-profit (501 (C1) 3) organization founded in 1997. Our mission is to enhance the Hmong community in social justices, traditional values, practices, and to develop emerging leaders with a vision to unite the voice of the Hmong community in the state of Minnesota.
With a strong mission and vision comes great responsibilities and opportunities. I am committed to improving existing and new infrastructures by building a stronger foundation for the organization. We are undertaking important changes in our strategic thinking and analysis to strengthen the councils, clan leaders, and community. In addition, we are engaged in partnerships and advocacy with professional organizations, businesses, and individuals. In doing so, we will provide more support and direct services to the community.
I want to thank and express my utmost appreciation to all the former Presidents, Councils members, and Advisors for their devotion and great leadership.
A special thank you to our collaborating partners, businesses, and individuals who have provided tremendous financial support in the work we do.
Thank you to all my committee members and advisors for your dedication in serving with me. You all have been integral to the important advances we have made.
Please contact me or members of the executive committee with any questions, concerns, suggestions and/or comments. I look forward to engaging with you all.
Together we can achieve more.
Sincerely,
Wang Thai Vang, President
